Children at All Saints

Children are warmly welcomed at All Saints, and we welcome them in various ways. We believe that the children and young people are the church of today as well as of tomorrow.

Services

At the seasonal festivals come round, we try to make these services  family friendly, such as at Christmas, Easter, Mothering Sunday, Harvest Festival.

Me, You and Breakfast 2 (MYB2)

However, we recognise that parents often find it awkward attending church with small children. Having tried Sunday School and All Age services in the past, we now provide a new way of ‘doing church’ on the first Sunday of the month.

MYB2 is a monthly event for families and their children, taking place on the first  Sunday of the month, in the church. We welcome all families – whatever their faith, or no faith at all! There is breakfast, followed by a story from the Bible (but told in a fun, child appropriate way), which we hope leaves them with  something to think about. The children write or draw prayers that are meaningful to them, and then embark on different activities that emphasise the meaning of the story. Above all, we want them to know that God loves them. We close with singing that further points to God’s love for them and us.

MYB2 runs from 9.30am to 11.00am – you can have breakfast, enjoy MYB2, and be home with loads of Sunday left for other things.

Activity sessions

A number of activity sessions for children and their families are organised throughout the year, where fun and games in a safe environment are the order of the day, but always with the aim of learning more about the security that Jesus provides. In the past there have been activities at Christmas and Easter, Pancake Races, and a less scary alternative to Hallowe’en.
